Courses

Lovejoy ISD offers both enriching and engaging instruction in all levels of the performing and visual arts.  The courses are tightly aligned to curriculum standards and requirements for the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in each discipline.  All disciplines are vertically integrated to ensure students receive optimal instruction and resources to prepare them for the next level of coursework and performance. Staff members engage in campus level team planning for the advancement of their curriculum and student growth.

 

Lovejoy fine arts offer a variety of opportunities for students to demonstrate accomplishment at local, state, national, and international competitions, performances, and art galleries.  Currently the music ensembles, theatre one act play troupe, and cheer are competitive in all aspects of UIL competition as well as state and national festivals and competitions.  The Majestics Dance Team and Winter Guard are technically advanced performance groups, also accomplished at the regional, state and national levels.  In addition, the visual arts programming consistently experiences the highest of ranking at state and national artistic competitive venues.
