Fine Arts Festival Overview

In the fall of 2008, a group of parents, our administrations, and the fine arts staff worked together to create a vehicle by which the arts in Lovejoy would be promoted.  This event grew to be known as the Lovejoy Fine Arts Festival.  The Festival is historically held over the first weekend in December and brings together every aspect of the visual and performing arts in an unprecedented showcase of student work.

The department of Fine Arts takes over Lovejoy High School with art, dance, music and theatre.  A fun festive atmosphere is further supported by the work of our Lovejoy High School Fine Arts Booster Clubs.  There is a children's craft area, a CoffeeHouse concert stage to enjoy a sweet treat and hot coffee, as well as a delicious chili luncheon, all available for a minimal cost and or donation.

From free music concerts on stage and theatre in our black box, to the unique festive productions from our dance department and guard units, there are many opportunities to see the incredible work our staff and students accomplish through the performing arts. The elementary choirs from Hart and Puster also share their musical talents in back to back concerts hosted in the LHS athletic gym.

The visual arts represents every young artist in our district by showcasing over 4000 pieces of art and dynamic installations in grade level galleries.  The impressive Evolution of Art gallery is curated by our onsight student gallery team and represents a cross selection of juried artwork to demonstrate an artists growth from kindergarten through the most advanced levels of art instruction at LHS.

The event is free, and open to all Lovejoy families and the community at large.
